Introduction:
Rainy weather couldn’t keep hard-core anglers away from the ISE Sacramento show,
and though it was a cold wet day in Northern California there were still plenty
of manufacturers showcasing their new offerings for the 2012 season. Perhaps the
greater threat to attendance was the NFC playoff game between the NY Giants
and the local San Francisco 49ers. The aisles were filled with a sea of red
jerseys with many anglers looking to learn more about the latest offerings and
get a few early season deals in before the big game.

Pro Angler and
Ultimate Bass Radio Host Kent Brown is once again the ambassador for the show
and was busy sharing his knowledge with anglers both on the show floor and on
top of the test tank
River2Sea:
The ISE Sacramento show always kicks of the show season for us but it is always
hard to say whether manufacturers will really be showing anything truly “new” as
most are just starting to ship the products unveiled at ICAST from the previous
year. We were happy to find a few nuggets this year, starting with the team from
River2Sea where pro anglers Ish and John Murray have been busy working on new
lures which will ultimately become available at the Classic.

The Bling is a
new premium spinnerbait from River2Sea

The Bling
features extremely thin yet durable blades
The R2S “Bling” is a new
light wire spinnerbait which features a detailed head complete with gills on the
underside. The blades are extremely thin and light yet durable. At the show we
snapped them back and forth and the brass alloy though thin was very resilient.
The blades are designed to spin up quickly and there will be three combinations
including a double willow, a tandem, and a Colorado-Indiana. Each blade is armed
with a 5/0 R2S hook and the blades will be available in two sizes and six
colors. These new spinnerbaits will retail for $7.99 each when they launch in
the next few months.

Also new is a
line of squarebill cranks called "Big E"
Also around the corner is
a new series of squarebilled crankbaits called the Big E, with smaller versions
called the Big E Smalls and the larger version called the Big E Papa. These
crankbaits feature very detailed patterns, how detailed? How about the “Abalone
Shad” which uses actual abalone finished into the head of the lure for extra
flash.

Talk about
details, the Abalone Shad actually uses Abalone in the cheeks
There are a whole slew of
new patterns covering everything from shad to crawfish and as you might expect
from Ish series lures they feature creative names like “I know it” for the Sexy
Shad, as in “I’m Sexy and I know it.” Each lure will be available in either a
silent or loud versions which feature a single knocker. All sizes will retail
for $8,49 each and will also be available shortly after the Classic.
