Introduction: Value driven tackle is the definitive theme here at ICAST 2009 and in no division is this more apparent than in rods. Almost every manufacturer present is debuting or extending their line of value rods. However, with at least one company so far, this attractive price point does not come at the cost of building the rods overseas. Presenting the Lamiglas Excel Bass rods assembled in the United States on a blank hand rolled in their Woodland, Washington facility!

When was the last time we saw a quality, Made in the USA product for right around the $100 price point? It is simply unheard of these days, but with escalating costs overseas, Lamiglas put it upon themselves to make a difference by delivering an affordable rod with a quality blank (the Excel Bass Rods feature a blank very similar to the Lamiglas Certified Pro Sticks) built with proven components (American Tackle Halide Guides), and wrapped entirely in house.

There will be three spinning rods, and seven casting rods all at seven feet or over. The series even includes a seven foot eleven light swimbait stick for $119.

Conclusion: When we rolled into the Lamiglas booth and John Posey introduced us to his new, value line of bass rods, that were Made in the USA, we grew very excited. Manufacturers who define themselves by making a difference either with their product, or how they deliver that product, or both are what excites us each and every year at ICAST. Lamiglas filled that void this year with their Excel Bass Rods. We look forward to fishing these rods during TackleTour's 10 Year Anniversary Celebration!
