Kicking off the Season with the 2008 International Sportsmen's Expo San Mateo

Ranger
Z520: The Ranger Z520 is our choice for the biggest baddest rig of the show.
Loaded with even more space, comfort and fishability features, the hand-carved
details of this rig are turning heads on and off the water. Inside, smooth, Sea
Star ProŽ hydraulic steering, integrated footrests, digital switching and a
seven gauge high performance instrumentation cluster highlight the helm.
Combined with SRS Soft Ride Seats, a built-in battery charger, a choice of
fishfinder electronics and integrated tackle and rod management systems, the
long list of standard features is a powerful blend with the advanced hull and
interior design.

Meet the new Z520 from Ranger, a
true tournament rig
The details in this rig are spectacular, from the
rod lockers to the well laid out console this boat is designed for serious
tournament fishermen. Depending on powerplant the boat is able to get up to the
mid 70's on the water and retails for just under 60K generously equipped. Want a
boat that can handle even the biggest swimbait rods? This is it.

Conclusion: The San Mateo ISE was filled
with outdoor enthusiasts, and attendance was actually up from the previous year,
a very good sign for the industry as the 2008 season starts out. Numerous
manufacturers took this opportunity to launch some new offerings, and the
introductions will continue to ramp all the way to ICAST this summer. Until then
there are plenty more International Sportsmen's Shows including Sacramento next
week followed by Denver which typically features more fly fishing products. If
you haven't had a chance to visit one of these shows yet you definitely should
consider it, as there is plenty of tackle to see and techniques to learn. We
enjoyed talking to the manufacturers and pros, but most of all to the many
readers who we came across simply walking down the aisles. There is nothing
better than being around those that understand you, and here is to a great
kickoff to 2008!
