Calstar:
Some freshwater anglers actually make use of Calstar blanks to build massive
swimbait sticks, but the company is best known for their lineup of powerful
saltwater rods. The team at Calstar showed us their new GG99 and 100J rods which
are a true graphite fiberglass hybrid sticks. They have the power and action of
fiberglass but not the weight. In fact when we picked up the rods they felt like
100% graphite sticks, but the minute we tested the rods with the tips loaded we
knew Calstar had something special.

of an all glass rod with 35% lighter overall weight
The rods are 35% lighter than glass yet offer the
same powerful and forgiving action. They are just becoming available now and
will retail for 250 dollar per rod.
