Pflueger:
When it comes to the ultimate balance of performance and price nobody does it
better than Pflueger. The company was showcasing their new flagship reel, the
Patriarch. This premium reel features a titanium finish for durability and comes
loaded with 11 double shielded bearings, and dual braking system with both
centrifugal and magnetic brakes for a limitless range of cast control. There are
two versions of this reel, the 6.4:1 and the 7.1:1, and both are designed for
medium freshwater and light saltwater applications. The reel looks like a
million bucks, yet only retails for 199 dollars.

Side by side with the other reels the new Saltists are noticeable smaller in
profile, but Daiwa maintains the same quality ergonomic grip knob for fighting
fish. The new Saltist reels are shipping now and will retail for 159 dollars per
copy.

Shimano:
Shimano recently released a number of new additions at the industry only Big
Rock dealer show in Las Vegas, and we will follow up with a separate article to
highlight these new offerings.

The Shimano
team was busy showcasing their special priced reels
At the show the company
focused on promoting their special rebates which range from 20 to 50 dollars on
their quality baitcast lineup. Fifty dollars off the Curado D is a great deal
and many anglers took advantage of the special to pick up reels capable of
tossing their newly purchased swimbaits.

The "Ultimate
Reel Deal" offers up to 50 dollars off quality baitcasters, but the offer ends

Shimano also garnered
attention for their new lineup of accessory products, especially the lightweight
Evair sandals. These sandals are 100% waterproof and are extremely lightweight,
weighing in at less than 6oz per sandal. One piece molded EVA absorbs heel shock
and reduces foot fatigue from standing and fishing all day. The sandals are
available now in Blue or green and retail for $39.99.
