The Tatula SV 103 Limited Baitcaster Looks Like a Keeper

Date: 7/21/21
Location: Orlando, Fl
Admission: Industry Only
Manufacturer: Daiwa
Reviewer: Zander

Introduction: Daiwa has a long history of catering to tackle enthusiasts and while the company has been focused on expanding their mainstream offering in the last few seasons it is good to see they haven't forgotten their roots. This season the company is adding some extra features and styling to their popular Tatula line with a new limited edition.

Pro Angler and Daiwa Prostaffer Cody Meyer shows us the final production Daiwa Tatula Limited

More than just a pretty face: The new Tatula SV103 Limited is immediately recognizable with a bright silver finish that really stands apart from the rest of the Tatula lineup.

The Tatula Limited looks more Zillion with this finish

Like the other Tatula reels the main frame of this reel is made of aluminum but the limited edition also gets a more rigid aluminum sideplate as well.

High-end components like a 90mm carbon swept handle and Zaion knobs add a lot of personality to this reel

The other most noticeable difference in the 90mm carbon swept handle that looks and feels very high-end, and is similar to the implementation we have seen on previous limited edition reels. This handle has the spider logo screened on it and is loaded with a pair of lightweight ported Zaion knobs.

You have to like Daiwa to buy this one. The logo on the non-handle sideplate is massive

Though the actual drag internals are the same in this reel the drag star has been upgraded with a anodized aluminum build. At the core the reel has all the features that make the series so popular including the SV braking system, Zero Adjuster and SV spool for precision casting control, and the T-Wing System.

This is one reel that should be in ever Tatula, or Limited Edition Daiwa collector's arsenal

These reels will retail for $299 each and Daiwa is manufacturing only 2500 units total. These units are already sold to dealers and should be a hot commodity so it may be worth pre-ordering if you like the Tatula Series, or just a fan of limited edition reels. This one should be a keeper.
