Introduction: When Halo Fishing joined the American Baitworks brand the company brought additional resources to strengthen product development, grow the overall lineup, and enable the brand to create rods delivering an even greater value versus price ratio. This ICAST the company is introducing three new lines, all of which are priced within reach of mainstream anglers.

Halo's new leadership is making major changes, starting with the introduction of three new rod lineups this ICAST

“When we took on Halo, one of the things we were most passionate about was creating a functional rod for the serious angler that included more quality features than you will find in similarly priced rods,” says Halo Brand Manager Walt Roberts.

Halo XD III Pro Series: The newly designed XD III Pro rods are designed to deliver plenty features and performance at the $99 dollar mark. There are a total of six new casting rods and two spinning rods, all of which are constructed from a proprietary graphite, make use of exposed reel seats, and hybrid handles that integrate cork-rings for added sensitivity alongside primary EVA grips.

All XD III rods will retail for only $99 dollars

The spinning models have a double-ring adjustment to avoid over-tightening when securing the reel to the rod. Both casting and spinning rods have a open styled hook hanger located on the blank, and in terms of hardware the XD III Pro Series makes use of stainless steel guides with zirconia inserts to enhance sensitivity even more. The ZDIII Pro Series lineup includes casting rod lengths of 7-0, 7-3 and 7-6 and in actions from medium to extra heavy with spinning models in 7-0 medium and medium heavy. Even though these rods are priced at the 100 dollar mark they will still come with a five-year warranty.

The KS II Series is designed with the tournament angler in mind

Halo KS II Elite Series: The next step up from the XDIII rods are the brightly colored KSII Series which is designed to be a tour grade rod at a reasonable price of only $169.99 each. One of the biggest differences between the KS II rods and the XDIII rods is that they make use of a Nano-fiber carbon blank that is designed to be stronger and more sensitive.

The KS II rods make use of Fuji components and you can't miss them with the bright green highlights

The KS II Elite Series consists of six casting and one spinning model all of which were designed with input from Halo’s pro fishing team. The series is built with premium Fuji guides featuring proven zirconia inserts. The KS II Elite rods also deliver enhanced ergonomics with a proprietary reel handle that is made of AAA cork with green Eva Foam highlights for comfort and sensitivity. An exposed, “two-finger” section in the reel seat provides anglers a direct feel to the blank for those delicate bites. The spinning reel seat also features a double-nut attachment to keep the reel secured to the rod, and both casting and spinning rods have a hook hanger integrated into the blank.

“Halo is working closely with our pro staff team to get our input on rod lengths, features and actions,” says Scott Canterbury, the 2019 Bassmaster Elite Series Angler of the Year. “We’ve made huge strides in improving the overall quality of the rods and dialed in the actions to meet the needs of serious anglers.”

Similarly to the XDIII Series rods the KS II Elite rods are backed by a five-year warranty.

Halo has partnered up with Pro Angler Scott Canterbury to introduce a signature line of rods

Halo Scott Canterbury Signature Series: Not only is Halo working closely with Pro Angler Scott Canterbury on all their new rod lines but the team has worked together to create a new Signature Series that is designed to cover every fishing situation that professional anglers face during their extensive tournament season.

“I’ve been using Halo Fishing Rods for the best part of my tournament career and the company already makes some of my favorite tournament-proven rods. When they gave me the challenge of adding my recommendations and design enhancements for tournament situations, I was excited to get involved.” said 2019 Bassmaster Angler of the Year Scott Canterbury “Each of these rods have my 20-plus years of tournament experience in them. They are priced to be affordable for any angler and designed to be tournament tough. I’m very proud of the work of our team to create some truly innovative fishing rods.”

These signature rods are also affordably priced at only $129.99 each

The Scott Canterbury Signature Series rods will be built with High-end Japanese Nano-fiber Graphite for improved sensitivity and durability. The blank design is centered around a reduced handle length for increased casting accuracy, as well as, optimized butt-end clearance to eliminate interference with bulky clothing. The blank is matched with stainless steel guide frames with zirconia inserts for smooth casting and durability. Halo also added a new, proprietary reel seat to improve hand-to-blank touch sensitivity and a super-comfortable grip to reduce casting fatigue for those long days on the water. There will be a total of seven rods in the series, 6 casting and 1 spinning model. Perhaps best of all is that these new rods will truly be affordable at only $129.99 each.

Since American Baitworks Co. took over Halo Fishing and made the brand a subsidiary they have made significant strides to overhaul the company since moving the business from Florida to Mississippi last year. The three rod lines being introduced this ICAST represent a major step in revamping the complete product lineup, while keeping a focus on delivering great bang for the buck for mainstream anglers.
