Abu Garcia Launches Ultralight Zenon Spinning Reel and Refreshes Veritas Rods

Introduction: Following on the heels of the successful introduction of their Zata casting and spinning reels at the Classic, Abu Garcia turns their attention to building a new top level of their product line as well as refreshing and expanding upon the mezzanine with Zenon and a Veritas respectively.

Zenon: If light spinning reels are your game, Abu Garcia's brand new Zenon could be just what the enthusiast in you ordered. Claiming to be the lightest spinning reel ever produced, Abu Garcia has built their new flagship reel on the foundations of a magnesium frame with strategic cut outs to reduce weight.

the new Zenon is designed as a finesse tuned reel with a smooth, reliable drag. The reel's body and rotor feature a super compact design further reducing overall weight.

The 20 sized Zenon is specified at just 4.9 ounces while the 30 size is specified at 5.4. Zenon will debut in March of 2021 and will be packaged with a spare, shallow spool. Retail is set for $499.99.

Veritas gets a refresh with 27 models in all

Veritas: Abu Garcia's popular Veritas line up of bass rods get a facelift for 2021 with twenty seven (27) base models all built on new, 30Ton carbon fiber blanks reinforced with 3M Powerlux resins to provide strength and sensitivity. Spacing for the titanium framed, Zirconium insert guides for each rod is determined by the manufacturer's ROCS (robotically optimized casting system) technology to optimize maximum casting distance with lighter lures. The series is made up of seventeen (17) casting and ten (10) spinning rods outfitted with custom, Abu Garcia designed reel seats and closed cell EVA grips for better wear and weather resistance. Each Veritas fishing rod includes a limited, 3 year warranty. Retail price is set for $99.95 - $119.95 with availability beginning this Fall.

Veritas Toro is built for heavy duty action

Veritas Toro: A subset of the Veritas suite of freshwater fishing rods is Veritas Toro. Consisting of three casting sticks with beefier builds, they are made to support the needs of inshore and muskie anglers and support lure weights from one ounce to one full pound! MSRP on these three, heavy duty rods ranges from $149.95 - $199.95.

Veritas Winch for dedicated cranking duties

Veritas Winch: Continuing with another subset of fishing rods within Veritas will be a set of sticks desiged for moving bait applications. Veritas Winch will consist of five casting rods and one spinning rod each built with moderate tapers making them perfect for cranking. MSRP will range from $99.95 - $119.95.

A new Frogging specific stick in the Veritas lineup

Veritas Frog Rod: The Veritas Frog Rod is built on a blank made from 24 ton graphite to deliver specially engineered rod with a soft tip for casting lightweight frogs with a strong backbone for reliable hooksets and the strength to pull large fish from heavy cover. This specialty stick within the Veritas lineup will retail for $119.99.

Veritas LTD features Winn grips

Veritas LTD: Rounding out an already extensive suite of rods are the brand new, Veritas LTD sticks offering the same blank technology, reel seat, and guide train as the base model Veritas but with new, Winn advanced polymer Dri-Tac grips. Veritas LTD will consist of eight (8) casting and three (3) spinning models and retail for between $119.95 - $149.95 depending on the model.
