New releases from Rapala, Terminator, Trigger X, and VMC (continued)

Worm Hook and HD Worm Hook:  Bent neck under the eye for easy weedless rigging.  The standard worm hook is best suited for light to medium line sizes while the HD size will cover heavy duty applications.  Black nickel finish with resin closed eyes and 3 degree offset.  Standard worm hook comes in sizes 2, 1, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0, while HD hooks come in 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 6/0, and 7/0 sizes.  Suggested retail is $2.99 for a pack of standard hooks and $3.99 for the HD pack.

 
Wide gap hooks range all the way up to a whopping 8/0 size.

Wide Gap and HD Wide Gap:  A wider gap worm hook great for weedless rigging.  Both hooks feature resin closed eyes, and 3 degree offsets.  Black nickel finish.  The standard wide gap comes in 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 sizes at a price of $2.99 per pack, while the HD hooks are available in 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 6/0, 7/0, and 8/0 sizes for $3.99 per pack


Tired of line twist while drop shotting?

Spinshot and Spinshot Wide Gap:  These hooks come mounted onto the center part of what is basically a barrel swivel, eliminating all line twist while drop shotting.  Black nickel finish with a 3 degree offset.  Spinshot hooks come in sizes 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, and 1/0 while wide gap models are available in 1/0, 2/0, and 3/0 sizes.  Suggested retail is $4.99 for either.


Soft plastic swimbait anglers will want to check these out.

Heavy Duty Swimbait and Heavy Duty Weighted Swimbait:  These swimbait hooks come with extra wide gaps and tapered locking springs to hold baits securely.  The weighted models feature a multi-position adjustable weight that can be easily adjusted up and down the hook shank for the desired action.  Black nickel finish.  Both models come in 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 6/0, and 7/0 sizes.  Suggested retail is $3.99 per pack for the unweighted, and $4.99 per pack for weighted models.


The Rugby jig is ideal for fishing rocky bottom.

Rugby Jig:  With a 3 degree offset hook, recessed eye, and bend shank for easy weedless rigging, this jig head will be idea for fishing rocky bottoms.  Available in 1/16-3/4oz sizes for $5.49 per pack.


The smaller sized jig heads should work great on an umbrella rig.

Swimbait Jig:  Featuring a 1X strong hook and a realistic head design, these jig heads will be right at home when rigging soft plastic swimbaits.  Available from 1/8oz to 3/4oz in sizes 2/0 to 6/0 at a price of $5.49 per pack.

With a huge showing at ICAST, the Rapala booth didn't disappoint.  From hard baits, to plastics, and lots in between, there was something new for just about any kind of angler.  With much more becoming available than what we've previewed here, 2013 looks like another great year.
