Introduction: Lew's continues to roll out notable new products season after season and this season when it comes to baitcasters that had one goal in mind, to deliver an even lower profile baitcaster. Today at ICAST they introduced the new Super Low Profile (SLP) Series.

Designed to be extremely low profile the new Custom Pro Speed Spool ACB Casting Reel really gets down

Get Low, Low, Low: It is one thing to make a reel sleeker but to actually engineer it so that it sits lower on the reel seat and make it easier to palm takes engineering not only to the frame and gearbox but to the spool as well.

The reel features a one piece aluminum frame and C45 Carbon sideplates for more rigidity

The new Team Lew's Custom Pro Speed Spool SLP is the company's lowest profile reel yet. The compact SLP design features a premium 11-bearing system, innovative small diameter 32mm spool, Winn knobs and other top-of-the-line features.

An externally adjustable centrifugal cast control system makes on the fly adjustments fast and easy

"Lew's invented low profile reels and our new SLP engineering gives us our lowest profile models yet," said Lew's President Gary Remensnyder. "Their small diameter 32mm spool starts and accelerates fast. The compact design provides superior handling of light lines and lures, yet gives up nothing in overall performance."

The Durlalumin drilled U-Shaped spool is double anodized for durability (and good looks)

The Team Lew's Custom Pro Speed Spool ACB Casting Reel is packed with Lew’s most advanced features and technologies including a one-piece aluminum frame and strong, lightweight C45 Carbon sideplates, hard aluminum alloy gears are designed to provide plenty of power, and the premium 11 double-shielded stainless steel bearing system ensures ultra smooth functioning.

A nice bonus are the Winn Dri-Tec knobs

designed to deliver excellent casting capabilities as well, the externally adjustable 4-pin, 27 position ACB SpeedCast centrifugal braking system allows anglers to cast a wide variety of lures in all weather conditions. Each reel also features a rugged carbon fiber drag system that dishes out up to 14lb of max drag power. When it comes to ergonomics these new reels seem to disappear in the palm of your hand when mounted on a rod and the Winn Dri-Tec knobs provide plenty of grip even when wet.

The new Custom Pro Speed Spool Reel will retail for $259 dollars and will be available early Fall. While anglers will have to wait a little longer to get down with one of these new reels e-tailers like TackleWarehouse are starting to take pre-orders.
