Getting a Handle on Gill Marine
||Buyers & Press Only
With their big introduction of the Vortex Hood during last year's ICAST, things were a bit more quiet and subdued in the Gill booth this year. We stopped by nonetheless to see what the company had to show.
New color for the Expedition FG_1.
The FG22 is a lightweight glove.
The FG22 Glove by Gill is a technical fishing glove built to keep your hands warm yet not impair your fingers or hands from performing normal fishing duties like tying baits and running your line through the guides. The palms and fingers of the gloves feature a tacky surface that aids in maintaining feel. Of course, the most innovative feature of this glove is its interoperability with the FG23 Glove. Retail on the FG22 is set for $25.95.
The glove's palm has a tacky surface to help with grip.
The new FG23 driving glove can be worn right over the FG22.
FG23 Glove: The FG23 Glove by Gill is a heavier duty glove built for more extreme conditions like when driving your boat from spot to spot in inclement weather. The interesting feature of this glove is it's built to slip right over the FG22 so you don't have to pull one glove off to put the other on. Just slip the FG23 right over your FG22's to keep your hands warm as you drive to you next spot, then, remove them once you've arrived so you can start fishing again all the while keeping your hands warm. Retail on the FG23 is set for $49.95.
So you can slip this glove on while running to a new spot, then take it right off again when you've reached your destination.
The FG23 has a rugged palm.
FG12 Short: The FG12 short is made from technical fabric that has a degree of water resistance so you can stay dry and comfortable during boat and fish splash on those sunnier, warmer days out on the water.
Also new this year from gill is the FG12 short for those warmer days out on the water.
Thank you Jerry Richards for showing us what's new with Gill Marine.
Thankfully the introductions by Gill Marine this year were not too extensive giving us a chance to catch up with existing lines. We always look forward to chatting with Jerry Richards about the R&D that goes into the Gill product and are excited to get some more experience with their technical wear and sharing all that information with our readers.
