Introduction: Megabass, the JDM manufacturer known for their high end product took us all by surprise two years ago with the introduction of their Orochi Double X series of rods, a more affordable Megabass retailing for around $300. By all accounts, the series has been a success for the high end company, but just when we thought that was the most affordable series of Megabass could manage, they've taken aim at an even lower price point with a brand new series of rods.

Another new rod series for Megabass.

Levante : Marking their second series of rods developed for the Western Market, Megabass's Levante Series is built from new carbon material from Mitsubishi (PYROFIL^TM) but layed out in the company's traditional multi-axis design.

Introducing the Levante Series.

Powers, tapers, and overall actions are designed to closely mirror that of the Orochi XX series, but the finished rods are built up with Fuji Alconite guides and EVA grips for a more affordable package overall. There are twelve (12) models in all with ten (10) casting rods and two (2) spinning all priced at $199.

Chris Zaldain, BASS Elite series pro, was super excited about the new Levante series of rods from Megabass and he already has a full arsenal of Orochi Double X and a host of other, higher end Megabass rods to play with. Just goes to show you it's difficult to separate the fisherman, even a pro, from the tackle enthusiast. It will be interesting to see how this new Levante series stacks up out on the water.
