Introduction: Ask long range anglers what reels they rely on when a trip is on the line and often times they will reply "Accurate." The company has built a well earned reputation for building reels that anglers can count on when standing up to big fish and harsh offshore conditions. This ICAST the company introduced a new 300 size single speed reel for those anglers that are looking for a smaller reel for inshore fishing.

The newest Accurate Boss reel is a tiny one

Smaller but still "Boss": The new Valiant BV-300 was designed by Accurate with shallow water jigging in mind but is also a good fit for many other applications including live bait coastal fishing, reef fishing, mooching or jigging for salmon, or targeting tuna and dorado with lighter line offshore.

The Valiant BV-300 may fit in the palm of your hand but it is a mighty little powerhouse designed for inshore fishing or shallow water big game on lighter lines

The Valiant weighs in at only 9.3oz., which is what some bass reels weigh, and is constructed out of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum for a light yet durable overall package. The guts of the reel include stainless steel gears that are anodized for superior corrosion resistance. These are the same high performance gears utilized in Accurate's larger reels.

The Valiant features a compact frame but the spool can still hold 325 years of 30lb braid

The BV-300 features a recessed ergonomic thumb plate on the lever drag for improved comfort and grip when fighting fish. This reel also has a first for Accurate, it features an easy find "Cam Stop" at strike. This reel does not have buttons at free spool and strike, but features a secure indent in the drag cam that stops the drag lever before going into full. This feature provides anglers with a fail safe while in the heat of battle, protecting them from going too far into full drag. Very clever.

When it comes to raw specs the BV-300 comes with a 6.1:1 gear ratio, holds 325 yards of 30lb braid, and has line retrieval of 29.5" per crank. The reel employs the company's patented TwinDrag for smooth even pressure.

A huge added value for saltwater anglers is the 2 years of free reel service that comes with the Valiant

Like other Accurate reels the the BV-300 is made in America and even comes with 2 years of free reel service so anglers can feel confident about fishing hard and keeping their reels in optimal condition. The Valiant BV-300 will retail for $399.99 and will be available September 1st.

Ben Secrest and David Nilsen of Team Accurate show us the exciting new Valiant reels. The Valiant has a compact footprint and delivers plenty of quality features at a reasonable price, the bottom line... the Valiant may be small but it is still "Boss"

Accurate has proven they know how to design and build quality reels, and the same precision they used when developing aircraft components still shows through in every product they introduce. The Valiant BV-300 has been in development a long time and now offers inshore and light line anglers a smaller, but equally well built, and ultra-refined conventional reel.
