ICAST 2014 Coverage

River2Sea's Class of 2015

Date: 7/17/14
Location: Orlando, FL
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: River2Sea
Reviewer: Cal

Introduction:
After the success of last year's intro, the Spittin' Wa and the lasting popularity of the S-Wave glide bait, we were quite anxious to see what River2Sea had in store for us at ICAST this year. While the list is not very long, the refinements are quite intriguing.

Introducing River2Sea's new lipless crank...

...the Vibe Ruckus is a 3", 3.4oz bait.

Vibe Ruckus: Never really out of the picture in terms of popularity, lipless cranks are going through a bit of a revival. River2Sea answers this call with their new Vibe Ruckus. A three inch (3") bait weighing approximately three quarters of an ounce (3/4oz). The Ruckus carries with it a typical lipless crank profile but it does feature a rather unique dimple at its head to enhance the bait's vibrating action during retrieve

Are you a fan of the Whopper Plopper?

You may be excited to know it's now available in an even smaller, 90mm size!

Whopper Plopper 90: The original Whopper Plopper is a 190 millimeter (~7.5") bait that since its introduction, anglers have been intimidated to throw. This despite its pedigree as a bait designed by the legendary Larry Dahlberg. To answer consumer's requests for a smaller size, River2Sea introduced the Whopper Plopper 130 - a five inch version of this same bait. This year, the company takes it one step further - or rather, smaller - introducing the Whopper Plopper 90. This bait measures just over three and a half inches (3.5") long and opens up the unique action of this bait to all sizes and species of fish.

The Bully-Wa gets a makeover.

Now with an internal air chamber that resists water infiltration, the Bully Wa II will be even easier to fish.

Bully Wa II: River2Sea gives their standard topwater frog bait, the Bully Wa, a makeover with a new, internal air chamber that is more resistant to water infiltration. The bait's popular, boat keel design belly makes for easy, walk the dog action in and around your favorite frog fishing waters.

Angelo Alorro shows us what's new with River2Sea!

Conclusion: River2Sea is a company that doesn't necessarily follow set release schedules. We saw this with their April 2014 introduction of their 200 sized S-Wave. Nonetheless, it's always fun visiting with them at ICAST because we know there's always something up their sleeves. We look forward to getting some time on the water with their new baits when they become available!
