Introduction: Let's face it, rods and reels can get pretty expensive.  While some people don't seem to mind getting their gear scratched and worn, others (myself included!) will do whatever it takes to keep this from happening.  While there are several choices on the market for rod and reel protection, Angler Innovations is offering new solutions that they feel really stand out from the rest.  At ICAST 2012, they unveiled their new Brandon Palaniuk signature series Rod Jacket rod/reel protectors, as well as their new Rig Jackets for protecting your umbrella rigs while not in use.

Rod Jackets protect casting and spinning setups very effectively.

The Rod Jacket rod/reel protectors are built tough using one piece neoprene construction with nylon binding to protect your rod and reel from abuse.  The rod sleeve has a built in full reel cover so your entire rig is protected with the ease of a one piece design.  Available for both spinning and casting outfits, the material is mold, mildew, and UV resistant.  They are form fitting for a clean look and will also resist tearing because the material is able to bend and flex.

Endorsed by Elite Pro Brandon Palaniuk, casting Rod Jackets accommodate up to 7'6” rods while spinning models accept up to 7'3” rods.

Rod Jackets can even be utilized on a fully rigged outfit which is very convenient if you want to store a pile of rigged rods on deck or in a rod locker.  They feature a tapered design with a reinforced 1” tip on casting models and 1 1/4” tip on spinning models to make safe and effective storage even easier.  A Velcro enclosure is used to wrap the reel securely and allows for simple removal.

Casting Rod Jacket: For use with 6'6” to 7'6” rods and works with both low profile or round reels. Retail $20.99

Spinning Rod Jacket: For use with 6'6” to 7'3” rods and works with up to 4000 sized spinning reels.  Retail $23.99

Rig Jackets feature a cool outer logo.  Note the clear hook keeper sleeve under the logo.

Why just stop at protecting rods and reels?  Angler Innovations has taken it a step further and will be offering the Rig Jacket to protect those bulky umbrella rigs on or off the rod.  Featuring the same one piece construction as the Rod Jacket, the Rig Jacket encapsulates the arms and baits of the umbrella rig offering total protection.  An interesting feature is the clear hook keeper sleeve along the outside of the jacket, giving you a place to slot the hook points into. Rig Jacket:  Retail $9.99

The team at Angler Innovations shows off their product.

Angler Innovations products are protected by a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.  Availability for the Rod Jackets is slated for August 1st, while the Rig Jackets are estimated to be early in the fall.  For more information visit their website at www.anglerinnovationsusa.com.
