Quantum's New Reels Are So Hot They Are Smokin'(continued)

Accurist PT Spinning: Also the show was the new Accurist PT spinning reel. This reel is positioned below the Kinetic PT which
sells for $99, whereas the Accurist PT will sell for a great value of only $79!
Though affordably priced it has all the goods of a PT series reel and won't disappoint
and the reel is being produced in Quantum's very own
facility where they control every process to ensure the best quality product.

Introducing the Accurist PT
spinning reel
A graphite body and a one piece rigid metal-alloy
sidecover makes for a toughest-in-class exterior to assure drive and pinion
gears stayed amply aligned, while 10 stainless steel bearings provide the reel's
smoothness.

Nickel Titanium bail wire but no
magnetic bail trip
The Accurist PT utilizes the Nickel Titanium bail
wire but unfortunately due to cost the reel does not have the magnetic bail
trip. In the drag area the reel uses a ceramic drag system that gives consistent
pressure throughout. 7 + 1 stainless-polymer hybrid bearings are used and the
new spinning reel comes in three popular sized models -- 10, 20, and 30, 5.3:1
for the 10 and 5.2:1 for size 20 and 30.

The new Accurist PT will be available be ready no
later than Jan 2011.
Q-VEX Spinning: The Q-VEX spinning reel is
one incredible reel for a super low price of only $39. The
reel features a lightweight composite body and metal size covers, 9 + 1 bearing
system, Continuous Anti-Reverse, and a Long Stroke dual-anodized spool. The size
10 model comes in a 5.3:1 speed while the 20 and 30 size comes in a 5.2:1 gear
ratio. The Quantum Q-VEX will be available late Fall to early Winter.

Great value reel, the new Q-VEX is
only $39
TRIAX Spinning: Coming right below the
Q-VEX is the TRIAX, another one of Quantum's great value reels costing only $29
for the reel itself and a combo (rod and reel) for only $49. The reel is made of
a composite body material housing 7 + 1 bearings, Continuous Anti-Reverse, and a
Long Stroke spool design. Gear ratios of 5.2:1 for the 10, 20, and 30 and an
even slower speed of 4.7:1 for the larger 40 through 60. The reel or combo will
also be available at the same time frame as the Q-VEX spinning reel.

Like the Q-VEX the TRIAX is also
inexpensive, retailing for only $29
Conclusion: A lot of the baitcaster excitement
on day one this year seemed
to be focused on the new Quantum Smoke PT as people across the show floor could
be heard
talking about the stealthy looking yet reasonably priced reel. Time will tell if
this reel is as hot in the field but from what we have seen thus far the Smoke
is a great reel that exhibits a great blend of features and performance for a
price that won't break the bank.... not to mention it pairs perfectly with the
rod it was designed with, but more on that later.
