Designed for freshwater anglers
are the new Ahi USA's Sabo Jig Heads. More patterns and sizes will be made
available in the near future
Sabo Jig Head: Bass anglers, are you tired of those beat
up, paint- chipping jig heads? At this year's show Ahi revealed their new line of Sabo
Jig Heads. The Sabo Jig
Heads make use of an impact resistant acrylic material to form a protective
shell that the company describes as "extremely" durable. No more scratched or chipped lead
head with these heads.

We compare the Sabo Jig Head to a
normal lead head. The Sabo heads are larger but of the same weight
Additional features of the new Sabo Jig Heads are
that they are 2X the size of standard jig heads but without twice the weight. The
outer shell helps deliver authentic fish detail with exciting colors to match your plastic swimbaits and conditions. The Sabo is
also constructed with a laser sharp point hook
with keepers to ensure the plastic will not easily slide off the jig head.

Recommended for swimbaits, grubs,
twin tails, and other plastic lures
The Sabo Jig Heads are available in four colors -
rainbow, green, pink and brown, and in five weights - 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1.5
ounces.
Sabo Squid Head: If your not into fishing swimbaits how about tubes or
even bits of actual squid, this can all be done with Ahi's new Squid Head. This Squid Head also
makes use of the same protective acrylic outer
shell as the freshwater jig head and is equally impact resistant with
squid-like detail and vibrant colors enclosed within. At the booth we actually stomped on
them and the plastic mantle held up perfectly.

Introducing the new Sabo Squid
Head, also encased in an acrylic shell
The Sabo Squid Heads have tuned action fins that makes the lure dodge and
dart erratically when jigged vertically and on the drop, much you would expect
to see from a darting squid trying to evade predators. The squid jig head uses
a saltwater worthy laser sharp point hook with a heavy gauge wire that helps
ensure durability when you've hooked into a big game fish.

Rig the Sabo Squid Head with
Hootchies, skirts, plastic squid, or cut bait. More sizes and colors will be
coming in the future including a glow-in-the-dark
The Sabo Squid Heads come in four colors - brown,
green, pink, and blue, and four weights - 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1.5 ounces.

The Squid Heads are unique in that the fins
give it erratic action when jigging
Sabo Bullet Head: The Sabo Bullet Heads, also encased in the high-impact
acrylic outer shell, are 2X the size of standard jig heads without twice the
weight. A larger head-per-weight ratio offers anglers a more uniform and
authentic
look.

When you want to go deep, look to
the Sabo Bullet Heads. They are large, heavy, and glow in the dark to draw
attention
These jig heads come in only one pattern which is
"glow-in-the-dark." The head comes with realistic 3-D eyes
and barbs to properly hold onto tails. It makes use of a saltwater worthy laser
sharp point hook that's great for targeting those big fish. The new Sabo Bullet Heads are
designed to be rigged with single tail grubs, worms, eels, twin tail scampies, swimbaits, and more. It
comes in 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1.2 ounce sizes for both freshwater and saltwater
applications.

Jason Morton of Ahi USA shows us the exciting
new Sabo jig heads
Conclusion: When we walked up to Ahi USA/Promar, we expected
Jason Morton to show us some new net, trap, or possibly a new gaff, but when he
pulled out jigheads we knew that Ahi was expanding their offers in a new
direction. The Sabo jig heads, made for freshwater and
saltwater anglers, are totally encased in a high-impact acrylic outer shell.
They are designed to look more realistic than competing heads and the impact
resistant plastic layer helps keep that genuine look longer. Because of this
design the size of the head will be larger but have the same weight of a
traditional jig head, and yet another function of the acrylic shell is that Ahi
USA is able to produce more unique finishes and color tones than traditional
paint can. The Sabo jig heads will be available roughly two months after ICAST,
and is likely just one of many new lure introductions we can expect to see from
this quality brand.
