Event Article: 2008 ICAST Coverage

Falcon's new Expert series of rods make use of  proprietary next-gen CrossMatch graphite (continued)

The new Expert Series rods are not all that is new at Falcon and two time Bassmaster Elite Series Champion Mike McClelland was on hand to introduce us to his brand new Cara signature rod. Mike's new Cara rod falls in the Cara T7 series which has also been advanced this season.

Professional angler Mike McClelland shows us his new signature rod

The new T7 rods are outfitted with Fuji ACS seats paired with Fuji Alconite guides with the company's LowRider alignment. The heart of the rod is Falcon's American made F120X blank.

The rod is a member of the new Cara T7 line

The rod Mike showed us was his new signature Cara T7 "Reaction" rod which was a 7'4" heavy action stick capable of tossing 1/2 - 1oz lures on 15-30lb test line. Though the rod featured a heavy action it still felt light and crisp in hand

The Cara T7 rods will now feature Fuji ACS seats for enhanced ergonomics

Just as we were about to leave the Falcon booth we noticed a new box that was designed under the new cooperation with Plano. The FTO Elite spinnerbait box is designed to hold a ton of spinnerbaits side by side either in a Falcon or Plano bag.

Falcon is also known for storage solutions and this new spinnerbait box is the latest from the Plano and Falcon partnership

The boxes feature secure latches on three sides, and holds spinnerbaits securely whether the box is laid down flat or vertically in a bag. The translucent top makes it easy and quick to identify which spinnerbait you need to draw from your arsenal.

The spinnerbait box is secured with latches on three sides, and a hinge on the forth

These boxes will be available right after the show and will retail for $16.99 per box. Like Falcon's previous tackle storage solutions the spinnerbait box is well designed and constructed to be highly durable.

Bountiful storage for all your spinnerbaits

Conclusion: We have only reviewed a single Falcon rod and one other FTO box in our eight year history. Not nearly enough... and the latest products from the company make it clear that we need to pay closer attention to this brand, as they stand poised to offer one of the most exciting bass rods in the industry with their new CrossMatch based Expert Series. If these rods perform anywhere close to as good as they look Falcon rods will have a major winner in their latest offering.
