Holiday Gift Guide

2017 Holiday Gift Guide (Part3): Line, Terminal Tackle, Apparel and Accessories (continued)

Electronics (Go Pro HERO 5 & HERO 6): When it comes to action cameras GoPro pretty much still dominates, and with good reason, their cameras are easy to use with one button simplicity and can capture 4K video both above and under the water (up to 10m). The GoPro HERO 5 Black Edition doesn't even need a housing to go underwater and delivers 4K video, 12MP photos, can display pictured and video on a 2" touch display and also can be controlled via voice.

Electronics : GoPro Hero 5 and 6

GoPro's newest camera, the HERO 6, takes things to the next level with a proprietary GP1 processor that enables the camera to double frame rates for videos, improves image quality, improves image stabilization, and delivers superior low light performance.

One of the most useful accessories is the Karma grip stabilizer

TackleWarehouse carries both the GoPro Hero 5 ($399) and the new HERO6 Black ($499) as well as a wide range of accessories including remotes and harnesses to help you capture all your outdoor adventures. The GoPro Karma grip is the official stabilizer from the company and is a great option for anglers that are capturing action and require additional stabilization and can even be attached to the company's Karma drone for stabilized aerial footage.

Tools : Cuda Titanium Needle Nose Pliers

Tools (Cuda Titanium Needle Nose Pliers): A good pair of pliers designed specifically for anglers doesn't have to break the bank. Cuda is known for their quality tools which offer durable construction and excellent ergonomics. The Cuda 8" pliers are spring loaded and feature an integrated ring splitter that makes it easy to swap out treble hooks on the water. The pliers are constructed using a full tang carbon steel design and are equipped with titanium bonded stainless steel cutters and an integrated crimper. Best of all the pliers feature an ergonomic handle with scale pattern grips that will not slip even when wet. What angler doesn't need a trusty pair of pliers? Retailing for only $22.99 the Cuda pliers get the job done in style.

Storage : Tackle Warehouse Angler Backpack

Storage - Shore Anglers (Tackle Warehouse Angler Backpack): Tackle storage on the go can be a challenge but Tackle Warehouse took matters into their own hands and have created a really good backpack at a great price. The backpack has been completely redone with new features and improvements including enhanced durability, stronger zippers, reinforced handles, and beefed up stitching.

In addition to durability enhancements the redesigned TW Angler Backpack has an improved layout with new designated pockets for all your kit, including sunglass and smartphone pockets with plush lining to ward off any scratches.

The backpack now also includes three built in dual pocket worm binders and two additional zip-locking worm binders that hang from the top of the front drop down compartment for quick bait selection on the fly. The backpack is great for moving your tackle on and off the boat and comfortable straps make this a great choice for shore anglers that hike from one spot to the next. The Angler backpack is available in grey and camouflage patterns at TackleWarehouse for $69.99 each.

Boat Storage : Daiwa Waterproof Boat Bags

Storage - Boat Anglers (Daiwa Boat Bags): If you are like us you have a lot of tackle and gear to move in and out of your boat on each trip. Daiwa's new boat bags help make the process easier with a bag that offers an immense amount of storage and excellent water resistance to keep all your gear dry even during a deluge.

The bottom of the new Daiwa bag is waterproof and the upper section is constructed out of durable vinyl and held together with double reinforced stitching for additional spray resistance. The top of the bag consists of one oversized flap that when opened makes it easy to stow your tackle boxes and gear quickly and is sealed closed with a corrosion resistant zipper. It just doesn't get much easier to use than this.

Even when fully loaded this bag is easy to carry with foam handles on either end, straps and a Velcro-close handle over the center and a no-slip shoulder strap. Boat spray and rain are no match for this tackle bag and there are two options, a small and a large size, that are available now at TackleWarehouse for only $39.99 and $49.99 respectively.

Riley signing off with our final pick in the optics category : Costa Del Mar Sunglasses

Optics (Costa): We keep trying different optics and yet once we are done with our tests we find ourselves gravitating back to our personal Costas time and time again. Costa Del Mar sunglasses are designed with the unique needs of anglers in mind and there are so many different frame styles to choose from as well as multiple lens materials ranging from polarized glass to polarized plastic.

Though heavier and significantly more expensive we still prefer the Costa polarized 580 glass lens options over plastic as the optical clarity offered by these lenses is exceptional, and they also resist scratches better than polycarbonate as well.

TackleWarehouse has a wide range of different Costa frame and lens options ranging from $168 to $248 dollars depending on configuration. For most bass fishing applications we like the gray and copper lenses that perform well in a wide range of light conditions. Some of our favorite frames are the sleek Fisch, Fathom, and Saltbreak styles but like all sunglasses you will want to find a pair that matches the your personal styling and personality or that of the lucky recipient of these quality optics.

Thanks for joining us for our 2017 Holiday Gift Guide. From all of us here at TackleTour we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season. May your lines be tight!
