Fred Hall Long Beach Show: Part 2 - Saltwater Coverage (continued)


Phenix Custom Rods:
Phenix Custom Rods as explained in the
Freshwater show coverage is not a new company but has recently made
changes and improvements, and is ready to get back into the game. For the
saltwater anglers Phenix offers the Black Diamond Saltwater series. These rods
use a special graphite blend that the company has developed for maximum strength
at a minimum weight, and can be used on both inshore and offshore game fish.

The rods feature ALPS S-6
guides that Phenix that has excellent performance results in the corrosive
saltwater environment. Different handle types come with the Black Diamond series
depending on model and application. Some rods come with a hypalon grip that's
shaved and tapered for a solid and comfortable grip. The longer jig sticks have
handles that are wrapped with cord for a
traditional deckhand style implementation.

USA is a lure company that has always brought freshwater and saltwater anglers
some good products. They didn't have much this time as they are getting ready
for ICAST this summer but there is something new that we wanted to note in this
show coverage. River2Sea's recent addition to their broad line up of lure is
the new Steel Tremor.

The Steel
Tremor comes in four patterns and three different sizes
This saltwater lure is designed to run at different depths
and various speeds by utilizing the multiple line tie position, three to be
exact. The Steel Tremor has an amazingly thin profile that's constructed out of
durable stainless steel. Though it is thin when the Steel Tremor is trolled is
creates a tight wobbling action that both vibrates and flashes are it runs. The
metal trolling lure also features heavy-duty swivels and two single hooks. The
lure, great for species such as tuna and mahi mahi is available in four
saltwater patterns in three different sizes. Prices range from $13.99 to $19.99.
