Some states have restrictions on use of live bait,
and many anglers prefer to use lures over live bait simply to avoid the mess.
Whatever the reason Panther Martin has a new saltwater substitute for live bait.
New for the 2007 season the company is releasing the "Mackeral" and the "Stinky
Shrimp."

The Mackeral weighs in at 9.8oz each and is 12
inches in length. It has multiple protruding fins and is designed to deliver a
very realistic swimming action when trolled. The lure is capable of being
trolled between 5-8 knots and comes in five different patterns (Atlantic Macker,
Atlantic Bonito, Herring, Spanish Mackeral, and Spotted Seatrout). Each come
armed with two oversized hooks and for added flash there is a holographic strip
that reflects light as the lure wobbles. This bait is designed to target a
variety of species including stripers, wahoo, barracuda, tuna, shark, and even
marlin. The Mackeral will retail for $19.95 each.

Anglers looking for a shrimp bait will appreciate the Stinky Shrimp's realistic
profile. The lure comes with a weedless hook and is weighted for a more
realistic action, but best of all these lures come soaked in natural shrimp
scent. These fully rigged shrimp are ready to go right out of the box, and will
be sold in packs of three for $7.99.
While these lures are just becoming available they
can be ordered directly from the manufacturer's
website.
