Jarden Corporation announced the acquisition today of Pure Fishing, Inc. which includes well known brands Abu Garcia, Berkley, Fenwick, Johnson, Mitchell, SevenStrand, Spiderwire, and Stren. Pure Fishing will join the Coleman Company, Inc. as part of the Jarden Outdoor Solutions (JOS) segment. 

Gary Kiedaisch, the CEO of Pure Fishing, Inc will serve as CEO for both Pure Fishing and Coleman and as President for JOS. Tom Bedell, a founding family member who was the driving force behind Pure Fishing's success will re-engage in the business as interim president. Tom will report to Gary.

Pure Fishing's world headquarters will remain in Spirt Lake, Iowa, enabling management to focus on its core competencies. The complete company hopes to leverage the strength of Pure Fishing's brands with Coleman's vast product line. Together they plan to expand existing business, introduce new products, and better serve the marketplace.

JOS expects a seamless transition and there should be plenty of support for partners and retailers, translating to continued support for end-users.
