Introduction:
Fly-fishing can be a frighteningly expensive sport, but thankfully there are some companies out there that make it accessible for people without stratospheric budgets. Redington is just such a brand. Featuring a mix of very affordable to modestly-priced offerings, Redington is well-known within fly-fishing for bringing great quality at great prices.

Hydrogen rods are the lightest in their class with the 9-foot 5-weight weighing just 2.5 ounces!

Hydrogen Rods: Redington's goal in creating the new Hydrogen series was to give trout anglers performance rods that boast extremely light weights.  Each of these medium-fast action rods sports a simplistic matte-grey finish along with skeletonized machined-aluminum reel seats, single-foot guides, and premium half-wells cork grips.

We like the simplistic, stealthy cosmetics.

Expect eight standard four-piece models from 2–6 weight in lengths ranging from 7-feet 6-inches to 9-feet. There's also three specialized four-piece 10 and 11-foot nymphing rods arriving in 3 and 4-weight sizes. All rods come standard with a slim cordura rod tube at an MSRP of $299.95.

Get a load of that reel seat....or lack thereof!

Chromer Rods: For all the steelhead and big trout anglers out there, Redington brings you the new Chromer lineup. Touting fast-action matte-black blanks, Chromer rods also sport anodized aluminum down-locking reel seats and unique premium cork grips with polymer pinch grips on the top and bottom.

Polymer pinch grips allow for added comfort and line management.

Reel seats are down-locking and the butt cap is the same polymer as on the foregrip.

Three switch and five spey models are hitting the market in four-piece 6,7, and 8-weight sizes, and lengths will span from 11-feet 6-inches to 13-feet 6-inches. All Chromers slip into an included cordura-covered rod tube at a price of $399.95.

We liked the look and feel of this different grip material.

Conclusion: From dead-drifting for trout to swinging for winter-run steelhead, Redington has you covered with these new rods. Expect these new series' to be available starting in August 2015. You can also expect to hear more about them on TackleTour in the near future because they are definitely on our radar!
