Introduction: Targeting big game? Australian company Scent Blazer has
designed a series of new baits ranging from trolling lures to teasers that all feature a
bait chamber for added attraction. These lures feature a water intake system for
an improved dispersion trail behind the lure.

Jessica Girard explains the
features of the Scent Blazer Teaser
Scent Blazer: Australian company Scent
Blazer debuted a number of interesting products at ICAST all of which are
designed for targeting big game in the ocean and feature a detachable chamber in
the back of the lure. This detachable chamber allows anglers to load up with
bait, fish attractants, weights, rattles or even lights.

A look at the detachable chamber,
there are plenty of holes for scent or bait bits to exit
The Scent Blazer Teaser is painted in a variety of
fish patterns and has water intakes in the front of the lure where water can
enter the lure and pass right through the loaded bait leaving a scent trail and
even small pieces of the bait directly behind the lure.

The Teaser has four large holes in
the front so that plenty of water can enter the lure when trolling
The Teasers are available in a number of sizes
ranging from 8" to 12" allowing anglers to insert a larger variety of baits, you
can load everything from a sardine to half of a small Tuna into one of these
teasers. The implementation looks very solid and the detachable section can be
accessed quickly for reloads but will hold up to fast trolling and fish strikes.
The Scent Blazer Teasers are available in a five colors/patterns including
Mackerel, Blue Sardine, Pink Mackerel, Skipjack Tuna and Dorado.

The Scent Blazer Trolling Lures
feature the same intake concept
The same concept is incorporated into the
company's trolling lures. The chamber on the lures is a lot narrower and hidden
underneath the skirts. Scent Blazer explained that extensive testing was done on
these lures and they experienced a 5 to 1 ratio of their lures versus other
lures with the same color, they also explained that this ratio was observed no
matter where in the spread they were run.

Hidden under the skirt is a screw
on chamber
The Scent Blazer comes in five sizes ranging from
the mini (8 inches) to the X-Large (12 inches) and there are a variety of head
shapes available including bullet, pusher, smoker and two slant head designs.
Even more impressive are the 16 colors is the complete spectrum of Scent Blazer
Trolling Lures are available in.

Conclusion: ICAST 2010
was the debut of Scent Blazer lures and the detachable chamber system adds an
extra element to trolling and teasing and while other lures may look like fish
skirting across the water the Scent Blazer products smell and taste like fish as
well. The chamber is not just about bait and gives anglers the extra room for
creativity with weights to get down to the right depth or lights for a different
strike triggering attractant.
