Location: Las Vegas, NV
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: Black Dog Bait Company

Introduction:
One of the booths we look forward to visiting each and every year is by a company right in our own backyard. Black Dog Bait Company made their name with the Lunker Punker and Shellcracker big baits, but in recent years have been downsizing their offerings first with the injection molded Punker and then miniature SmallCracker.

Mr. Flippy's official packaging.

The new look, production version of Black Dog's Mr. Flippy.

Last year, we got a look at the companies first soft plastic bait, Mr. Flippy, and here at ICAST, the bait is now officially available only with a few enhancements. The slit at the top of the bait made to conceal the hook point has been removed as unnecessary and a texture has been added to the overall bait giving it a more craw-like feel when a bass has the bait in its mouth.

Mr. Flippy has a new texture but the same thumping claws.

Go Big? How about a 5" injection molded punker?

Black Dog Bait Company always has something in the works, and this year is no different. With a release date not quite set, but hopefully this coming fall, they’re coming out with a soft plastic shad sure to entice striper and largemouth. The only details we can share? This one photograph.

The yet to be named, pending availability soft shad baits from Black Dog.

Conclusion: The enhancements to their existing product line include a new, 5” sized injection molded punker, the re-release of the 8” version, and new foil finishes on the Punkers. Black Dog Bait Company continues to extend their offerings with interesting products and now with a line of soft plastics the company can be known for more than just big baits.
