Scentsation Lures... "It Really Stinks!"
||Big Bite Baits
Big Bite Baits recently hired
the services of a 30 year PhD Chemist to develop a new, soft plastic formula
infused with proprietary fish attractant. Over the last season the manufacturer distributed prototypes through their pro angling team for testing in the rigorous pro circuits and continued through the off season. Once everyone was confident they had the right recipe, work began on new, bait profiles.
The Scentsation Cliff Hanger Worm will come in packs of 10
Bassmaster Elite Series angler Clifford Pirch leveraged his finesse fishing prowess in designing two bait profiles for the new Scentsation line. The CliffHanger 5 is a five inch straight tail worm in the mold of the hand poured soft plastics that dominate Western waters and his Ramtail 35 is a three and a half inch trailer with a strong swimming action making it an ideal compliment on jigs for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Says Pirch about the new line, "I've gained an enormous amount of confidence during the development process of the Scentsation line of baits on how effective they are on largemouth. The willingness of largemouth to bite these new baits has been an eye opener for me, and I am looking forward to utilizing them in largemouth scenarios as much as I am for smallmouth. When you can combine the characteristics of good hand poured plastics and an awesome fish attracting scent you have a serious player, and Scentsation is just that."
Scentsation Ramtail will come in packs of 6
Scentsation Quarantine Craw will come in packs of 9
Continuing on that finesse theme, Elite Series pro Drew Cook designed the new Ned rig bait, the Quarantine Craw. This is a four and a quarter inch bait designed by Cook during, you guessed it, the quarantine months of 2020. The bait has proven effective either by itself on a jighead or as a trailer on a finesse jig. Cook adds, "I saw immediate results and to be able to have this shape in the Scentsation plastic is going to be a sure winner."
The Scentsation Skinny Stick will come in packs of 10
The new Skinny Stick is a five inch worm designed for both wacky rig and drop shot presentations by Major League Fishing Pro Michael Neal. Neal has been tearing it up in recent months and credits a lot of his recent hot streak on the new Scentsation plastics. About the Skinny Stick, Neal says, “I developed the Skinny Stick 5 for my use with drop shots and wacky rigs. I love the action this bait has, the texture and the strong scent formula has helped me get more bites while playing a crucial role in several of my wins and high finishes in the last year. I also selected the colors in this worm and feel they can go anywhere in the country and catch fish.”.
The Scentsation Smasher will be available in two sizes, 3.5"
& 4.5" and will come in packs of 12 and 10 respectively
The Scentsation SoMolly is a 3.6" bait and will come in packs
Big Bite Baits also leveraged Lindner's Angling Edge group for their input testing the new baits. The mix of minnows and finesse shapes proved deadly for Al Lindner, James Lindner, and Jeremy Smith in their Northern waters for everything from bluegill to musky.
The Scentsation Slim Minnow is a 4" bait that will come in packs
Our Quick Take: Big Bite Baits's are typically pretty reasonably priced
and the new Scentsation series baits will be priced at $6.99 per package with the number of baits varying per bait profile. Availability is expected almost immediately
after ICAST and we will be comparing them to other scent infused plastics on the
market. Scent has always been a topic of debate, and whether they draw more
bites or get fish to hold on longer, anglers that routinely fish scented baits
like PowerBait and Maxscent will attest to their effectiveness. It will be
interesting to see how the Big Bite Baits Scentsation offering stacks up.
